Splash and Swim classes are for children to access on their own whilst their parents remain poolside. We follow the national Learn to Swim award scheme from Swim England, which is the development of water confidence and introduction of basic water skills.
Splash and Swim sessions 3 years upwards
Further progression into stroke technique and more complex skills, increasing distances and stamina and effieciency of each of the different strokes.
How do our classes work?
These classes are run on a weekly basis during the school terms. They are booked in half termly blocks and priority is given to those already attending lessons to renew towards the end of each term. Any unallocated spaces will then be offered to those on our waiting list.

Who are they for?
These classes are primarily for children age 3½ years upwards. We do take children that are between 3-3½ on a trial basis in these sessions to see how they manage. Within these classes the children are in the pool on their own and parents remain poolside. We do have instructors in the water but need to ensure safety and that the child is able to follow instructions.
We teach children throughout the stages of the national Learn to Swim programme up to and including Stage 7. They can start with us from a beginner stage or join us further on in the programme depending on availability.
Benefits of Splash and Swim classes
- Small group sizes with instructors teaching from within the water to facilitate progression
- Lessons within warmer hydrotherapy pools so less distraction
- Different stages to work towards
- Badges and certificated to reward progress made

Access
The pool is down the driveway between Woodlawn School and Langley First school, you will see the pool on your right. As you approach the main entrance you will see a fire door to your right with ramped access. Please use this entrance and not the main school entrance. Prams and pushchairs may be brought into the lobby area but are not to be taken into the changing areas at all.
Hygiene
No food or drink may be consumed in the pool area or within the changing rooms for hygiene reasons.
Nappies
For those attending the Little Splashers classes we require a double nappy policy. Babies should wear a disposable swim nappy and a neoprene swim nappy over the top. This helps prevent any possible leaking from the nappy.
For those in the Little Swimmers classes, if your child is toilet trained then a normal swimming costume should be fine.
